How it is checked
By an automated checker, and by hand.
Every page is checked with axe-core, a widely used automated accessibility checker, at desktop and phone widths. An automated check finds only part of what makes a site hard to use, so the site is also tested by hand before it is published: with a screen reader, and using only a keyboard.
